we believe the greatest gift one person can give to another is to pay attention to their existence.

This workshop will interest those leaders responsibilt for calling others to account, in situational conditions and through performance review events. It will demonstrate how mentoring is modelled by opening a meaningful, goal-oriented narratives. It will use the Success and Challenge Narrative Method (SCNM) to explore the successes and challenges of a staff member’s performance and to help them establish meaningful performance objectives for the future. The workshop will also demonstrate how to use the SCNM in compliance with existing performance review forms and protocols.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Conduct a performance review using the Success and Challenge Narrative Method (SCNM)
  • Use the narrative’s content to establish performance goals – either by enhancing the high performers’ needs or by establishing requirements for lower performers
  • Use the content to complete the formal requirements of their organization
  • Develop staff to their fullest performance levels
  • Understand the two conditions for calling others to account


Participants will be invited to take part in a series of discussions and engage in small-group work exercises designed to explore and practice the topics covered.
